Earl E. Dyer, Jr.

by Samya from Richmond

When you asked me who my hero is, I immediately knew what to say. My dad, Earl E. Dyer, Jr., is my hero and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Earl E. Dyer, Jr. was born to Earl and Jean Dyer, Sr. He is the oldest of six children. He attended Richmond public schools. He graduated from Armstrong High School. My dad still resides in Richmond where he lives with my family and me.

My dad not only risks his life for our country everyday as a soldier and firefighter, but he also provides for me and my family. He works outside of the house, as well as taking care of random household chores. My dad also loves and cares for me. He’s there when I sleep at night and he is still there when I wake up in the morning. My dad teaches me the most important things in life. These are only some of the reasons why my dad is so important to me. He has saved me more times than he’ll ever know and that is why my dad is my hero.
