Eddie Murphy was one of the greatest comedians in the past 50 years. In 1961 Eddie Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York. As he grew he always had a good sense of humor, and always enjoyed entertaining his mother Lilyan and his stepfather Vernon. Throughout high school he was one of the most popular kids in his grade, imitating many different comical characters such as Fat Albert.

Once Eddie was fifteen, he began to act at Long Island nightclubs and this is where he got his career on track. Then in 1980 he received a phone call asking him if he would cast on Saturday Night Live. Eddie accepted and started filming but soon some audience members almost suspended Eddie from the show due to racial issues. In 1983, Eddie starred in his first movie, “Trading Places,” a comical story about two characters that switch lives. I985 Eddie debuted his first album “How Could it Be,” which got big ratings. Soon in 1992 Miles Mitchel, Eddie’s first son, is born. The very next year in 1993 Murphy releases his third album, “Love's Alright.” Some more recent movies that Eddie has made are “The Nutty Professor” in 1996, “Shrek” in 2001, and “Dream Girls" in 2007. But through his whole career Murphy’s most memorable films are “Dr. Doolitle,” “Coming to America,” “Beverly Hills Cop,” and “Shrek (one and two).”

Some demonstrations of pure heroism that Eddie has shown over the years happened once in the sixth grade. He stood up for an underdog that was getting bullied. The second act was at age fifteen when he did a stand-up comedy routine in front of giant crowds in New York night clubs.

Some comedian/actors that I think Eddie Murphy’s personality reflects are Jim Carrey, and Adam Sandler. I think that they reflect this in their humor and the way that they act. For example, like Murphy, Jim Carry also started out at night clubs and was a great imitator and did hilarious impressions of famous comical actors. While on the other hand, like Adam Sander, Eddie can portray his own characters.

Shrek 2

Currently Murphy is still making movies and "Shrek the Third" comes out on May 18. Also there has been an announced proposal to create "Shrek 4". In addition, Eddie was nominated for an Oscar for the movie "Dream Girls."

Eddie's behavior really reflects on the way that he looks at the issues around him. The person that thought him the most was his mother, who is his “biggest fan,” and also he relies on modern society and pure humor. A real lesson that Murphy teaches us is to be yourself, and that everyone should have a medium between life, like Murphy once said in his 1992 film “Boomerang,” “Not rock ‘n’ roll but not serious piano.”
