Elizabeth’s Austin’s life was filled with integrity. When Elizabeth was only fifteen years old she went to a church in Mexico because she felt the Lord called her. During her teenage years, she spoke at churches and on the radio around the United States. In the 1950’s she had cancer and was dying, but God miraculously healed her body completely. She journeyed to China and ministered there, and later she moved to Africa. She even parachuted to some villages that had never seen a white person before. By the end of her life, she had traveled to every country in the world!
Elizabeth Austin had many amazing stories of how God protected her and saved her from disease, and even death. One time, she was ministering in Africa when rebels surrounded the village, threatening to attack. She prayed and felt God telling her to run around the perimeter of the huts. Soon the rebels ran away screaming. Later, one of the rebels was captured and interviewed. He said they had fled because they saw a wall of flame surrounding the village. She obeyed her Heavenly Father’s every word.
Elizabeth Austin’s courage was found in God’s word and power. There were many times when her life was at stake! Once a man even pointed a loaded gun at her, pulled the trigger, and it failed to go off. She never gave up on her King. Her main message in life was God’s love. Whenever she walked into our church every person started to smile. When you looked at her you saw Jesus. Elizabeth Austin is a hero to me because she was a strong woman of God and trusted Him with her whole heart. Did I mention she was only four foot eleven?
