Ellen Lee DeGeneres, born in Mertaire, Louisiana, on January 28, 1958. Ellen is an actress, comedian, and a talk show host to her own show called "The Ellen DeGeneres Show". Ellen DeGeneres is an environmentalist, animal rights activist, and a peacemaker. She is also a lesbian. She is married to a women called Portia De Rossi. 

In 1991 Ellen won the award for Funniest Female Stand-Up comic. In 1994 she won the 46th Primetime Emmy Awards. Ellen also premiered the Ellen DeGeneres: The Beginning. In 2003 she animated the voice of Dory from Finding Nemo. The latest award she has won was the 2011 Best Comedian. As a lesbian, she has been hated and bullied. Ellen goes on in life with laughter; anything that happens to her she just solves it by having a smile on her face.

Ellen's deeds to heroism is that she donates money to charity. Also every day she gives something to her audience for free. She is also is a dream follower and with her dreams she encourages other people who struggle.  

Ellen's characteristics are confident/ brave. I feel that way because she came out to the public about her being lesbian and not worrying about what other people say. Ellen is also funny because she makes everyone laugh, and she won Funniest Female Award. She is also very generous, she gives things away to her audience for free, and to people who really need it.

Ellen's current status is that she hosts the syndicated talk show "The Ellen DeGeneres Show." She appeared on the "American Idol" as a host in February 9, 2012. She made her own record label entitled "Eleven-eleven" in May 26, 2010. And lastly appeared on "The Simpsons" in 2010.
