"Sometimes you can't see yourself clearly until you see yourself in the eyes of others." No one can compare to Ellen Degeneres and everything she has done for charity and people all around the world.Throughout her life she has been through many difficult circumstances but she keeps her head held high and that is something everyone should admire and love about Ellen.
Ellen DeGeneres is the daughter of Elizabeth Degeneres and Elliot Degeneres. She was born in Metairie, Louisiana, raised as a Christian Scientist until the age of thirteen when her parents divorced. After her parents divorced she had to be separated from her brother, she was separated from her father. Her mother took custody of Ellen and her father took custody of her brother. She had to move from New Orleans to Texas with her mom and her stepfather. Ellen graduated from Atlanta High School in May of the year 1976, after completing her first years of high school at Grace King High School in Metairie, Louisiana. Ellen then moved back to New Orleans to finish college. She graduated and got her degree in communication studies. This has brought her very far in life and she always keeps her head held high.
Ellen is a phenomenal host of the "Ellen DeGeneres Show". In 1997 Ellen admitted her homosexuality on the Oprah Winfrey Show. She was in a relationship with Anne Heche, one of the reasons why she left her previous television show for a while and made a new one that has been on since 2001, a year after she broke up with Anne. Then in the years 2001- 2004 Ellen was in a relationship with a TV director named Alexandra Henderson. Since the year 2004 she has been in a relationship with Portia De Rossi. In the year 2008 Ellen and Portia got married in their home with only 19 guests before gay marriages were banned from the state of California. Her mother wrote a book about how she could have never imagined her daughter being lesbian but now she has become one of her biggest supporters.
Ellen has donated money on her show and to many different charities around the world. She has helped kids with cancer, she helps stand up for America and she is an amazing role model to many people in the world including me. This is why I do and I always will look up to her .
