Elizabeth and Christopher Hailey (Christopher Hailey (Christopher Hailey))

A hero is a person that works hard for others.  Elizabeth Hailey, from Granite Bay, CA, may seem like an average person, but she is much more than that. She was the first person in her family to go to college, and got her MD from UCLA.  In addition, she is the proud, loving mother of four boys.  She is creative, intelligent, hardworking, and caring.   She is my hero because she works hard so the others around her can do their best.

Elizabeth Hailey was born in Fresno, CA; she was one out of six children.  In her early life, she played the clarinet and other reed instruments, and did exceptionally well in school.  She attended McLane High School in Fresno and graduated with honors.  She attended college at UC Davis as an undergrad, and then continued to graduate school at UCLA School of Medicine.  After college, she started her pediatric residency at Children's Hospital at Oakland. She worked as a pediatrician for seven years, but ultimately decided to stay home to raise her four boys.  Her future goals are to continue to nurture her boys to be responsible and successful young men, and to someday go back to practice.

As a doctor, Elizabeth Hailey has helped many people, but as a citizen and a mom, she has helped many more.  Her boys are in the age range from 6-13 years of age.  Her daily life is very complicated.  She wakes up at 6 AM every morning to do any missed chores, and get ready for the busy day ahead.   She makes everyone's lunch, and helps them pack their bags.  After driving everyone to school, she does most of the chores at home.  She then helps everyone with their homework, and will stay up until everything is finished.  Her favorite saying is "With four boys, I work from son up til son down!"  She is a hero because she will do anything to help others.

Our lives intertwine; a normal day isn't possible without her.  Her actions are very selfless, and she is proud to help out.  If there is something I need, she will get it for me.  If I don't feel well, she will help me get better.  If I want to go somewhere, she will take me there.  If I don't want to do something, she will give me a good push in the right direction.  That is the person she is: a good person; a supporting person; a true hero.

Now you know who Elizabeth Hailey is: a doctor, a mom, and a hard worker.  She puts others before her.  She will do anything for you, and not ask anything in return. Elizabeth Hailey works hard for others. Elizabeth Hailey is my mom, but she is also my hero.
