Edward J. O'Hare, better known as "Easy Eddie," was born on September 5, 1893. His parents were Patrick Joseph O'Hare and Cecelia Ellen Malloy O'Hare. On June 4, 1912 he was married to Selma Anna Lauth. They had three children, Butch (1914), Patricia (1919), Marilyn (1924). In 1923 he joined a law firm. Around 1925, he ran dog races in Chicago, Miami and Boston. Al Capone was an original American Gangster. He ran crimes mainly in smuggling, bootlegging of liquor, and other illegal activities. He practically ran the city of Chicago. His mobster career ended when he was sentenced to Alcatraz in 1931.

"Easy Eddie" was a lawyer. He was Al Capone’s lawyer at that. He was provided with anything he ever wanted for his family. He was practically a king. He was provided with bodyguards, guards to the house, guards everywhere.

O'Hare was awakened one day when he was the lawyer to the well known Al Capone and his kids came into mind. His kids, his family, they were getting an example of the wrong life. A life of crime, violence, and just a wrong life. He was living a lie. One day Edward J. O'Hare quit. He quit being the lawyer to Al Capone, the most dangerous gangster in America at the moment. He was setting himself up for trouble. Just days later he was killed. He was shot and killed by Al Capone’s guards. His family stayed strong for him. His family was considered in danger themselves but they were never harmed.

"Butch" O'Hare was Edward O'Hare's son. He was influenced by his father when Edward O'Hare quit the job that was just for the wrong reason. "Butch" grew up and became a Naval Aviator for the United States Navy. He was awarded the Medal of Honors, Navy Cross, and a Distinguished Flying Cross. While on a mission for the United States Navy, several Japanese Fighter Pilots came hurdling with a mission. "Butch" was released from the ship and soon realized that he did not have enough gas. While turning back to get more gas, the Japanese attacked his plane and he fought them all, alone. He died. His aircraft was never found.

Edward J. O'Hare is a hero. He set an example and then it affected his son’s life. His son was a hero in himself. "Easy Eddie" is my hero because he stood up for himself and for his family. We should all somewhat follow in these men's footsteps. They are heroes to many, many people.
