Ernest Wong

Hello, my name is Yohanes Kevin. I go to Dian Harapan school. I'm in grade 8 now. First of all I’d like to thank my teacher that teaches and supported me to write this project. Without my teacher I wouldn’t know about this website. I’d like to thank my friend that gave me a lot of ideas and helped me to find my hero. I hope you enjoy and find new lessons from my hero.

My definition of hero is a person that always helps his friends and has a strong mentality to overcome his/her problem. I was searching who was the person that I call hero. After I joined a summer camp that is called Super Teen, I finally found my hero. His name is Ernest Wong. He taught me many things when I joined the Super Teen camp. He always had positive thinking about others and always motivated people to become much better.

He was born in Singapore. He has 1 big brother and 1 little brother. Their parents divorced and he and his two brothers lived with his mother. His father lived at the temple because they didn't have enough money. Their father liked to drink and use drugs. Because of that their father didn't have a job and they didn't have enough money for education. When he was in junior high school Ernest had to work after school, so he could still go to school. At the end of every month he went to the temple to pick up his dad and bring him to his mother’s house. He first then rubbed his father's back with a scrubber. Every time he rubbed the back the water turn black, because his father hadn’t taken a bath for one month. After finishing his bath he would take his father to the dining room and give him a lot of food, because his father only ate a piece of bread every day or even did not eat at all. After his father finished eating he would give his father a bottle of alcohol for the father to drink. He gave his father the alcohol so that his father could stand the pain he suffered. His father used to drink alcohol because if he didn't drink it he would feel pain in his body. After the father drank the alcohol he would give another bottle to the father to take to to the temple. Before her mother got home he had to bring his father back to the temple.

After he graduated from the university he began to work. After a week of working he got a phone call from his mom that brought bad news. His mother told him that his father has been found on the temple stair, and now he was in a coma. At that time he got back as soon as possible. After he arrived his father was still alive and his father ask him to buy a drug. So he bought it and snuck it in. After a few day his father died. Then the doctor said if his father doesn’t have the drug he wouldn’t stand the pain. After that his father was brought to the funeral and the dead body was burned. When he went home he buried his father's dust. Then he thought why he never hug him? Why he never kissed him and say I love you, dad. Now is useless to say all of that.

After that incident he promised himself to be a successful person. First he joined the famous seminar how to be rich. After that he made friends with the successful and rich people. To get to the top he knew that he must start from the bottom and needed hard work. He started to work hard. After a few years he joined the super teen organization and joined with Tung Desem Waringin organization. In the super teen camp he taught the camper/ the teenager to have a positive mind and always to be thankful to God for whatever happened to us. Now he lives in Malaysia and has 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl. He has many houses in every place.

I chose him as my hero? because through him I changed my live and became a lot better now, because of him. I am really thankful that I have a family that really cares about me.
