My hero is Earvin Johnson, who is known as “Magic” Johnson. Magic Johnson is giving and inspiring. He is my hero because he was a very good basketball player of his time; he was an MVP many times in his basketball career. In 1979 the L.A. Lakers drafted Magic Johnson. After he was a basketball player he made a non-profit organization that helps people with social needs, health needs, and educational needs. Magic Johnson helps kids overcome their challenges in life.

Magic Johnson started out as a very good basketball player. He was born on 8/14/59 and he went to Everett High School. He went to Michigan State College. Then in 1979 the L.A. Lakers drafted him. He was the MVP in 1987, 1989, and 1990; he was the All Star MVP in 1990 and 1992.

Besides being a great basketball player, he also made a non-profit organization called Magic Johnson Enterprises. It helps youth with education, health, and social needs. Magic Johnson Enterprises helps kids learn who are struggling in poor communities. It helps them stay healthy by talking to kids about all the diseases you can get. It educates kids about social things like helping them get jobs.
