Only 51 players can be on a team. Eli Manning, Brother of Peyton Manning is one of those players. Eli Manning is not only an outstanding and courageous NFL player but he is off the field as well. Eli manning has put in many contributions off the field and on, such as teaming up with the “play60” program, which encourages children to go outside 60 minutes a day. The play60 program helps prevent childhood obesity, a growing problem in the United States today.

Eli “Easy” Manning is the son of Archie Manning, who was an award winning quarterback in many various categories. Eli is also brothers with famous NFL quarterback Peyton Manning, current Colts starting QB. In Eli’s rookie years many thought he would be red shirted, or benched the entire season, to get used to the way things work. But it all changed when he was awarded the starting job halfway through the year to pass the aging quarterback Kurt Warner. Eli was driven to prove not only to himself but to sportswriters, analysts, and to the NFL’s fans, that he is not only good but an astonishing player. He has since won a super bowl and a Super Bowl MVP award. He has faced so many obstacles getting to where he is now, like playing with broken fingers, sprained ankles, sprained feet, and even concussions.

Eli Manning also helped during the Hurricane Katrina relief in 2005. Once the hurricane passed and the danger was gone, Eli and his Brother Peyton, who were born and raised in New Orleans, went there and helped out by fixing houses, donating money and getting citizens of New Orleans lives back. This was a very courageous and generous thing to do for Eli who made his reputation as an NFL player astonishing.

While Eli’s legacy is still growing he has shown some record-breaking success. For instance, he has more than 105 career throwing touchdown passes with a quarterback rating of 77.4, which would bE higher if he played better during his rookie season.
