Elda

My hero was born in San Francisco De La Paz, Honduras. Everyday I thank God that she was born. My hero is Elda Azucena Dominguez, better known as my mom. She is the middle out of 10 children. Her family lived in poverty, when my grandfather was killed her family's life worsened. In second grade my mother had to drop out of school to help my grandma support the family. When she turned 14 she started going to night school to finish the fourth grade but at the same time she continued to work.

My mom has overcome many obstacles in her life. That is why I admire her. At age 16 she someone she thought was the love of her life but he turned out to be pure evil. He would abuse her physically and mentally. At age 17 she had my older brother Marcos and even then he had no mercy. He would beat her almost to death and humiliate her in in front of her family and friends. He was killed in a bar fight.

It was true love at first sight when, at age 28, she met my amazing dad. After meeting him her life totally changed. My parents were madly in love until the end. My mom is my hero because she has always been there for me no matter what. She supports me in everything i do, even if she disagrees with it. I can always talk to her about everything, even the weird stuff. She motivates me to go to school in the morning. My mom is my everything. Without her i wouldn't be who i am now. When my dad passed away she kept us together and always stayed strong for my little brother and me. I really admire her strength because I know that without her our family would have totally split apart. I am proud to call her my mother because of how much she has done for my little brother and me.
