My hero is Eminem. He is a rapper and has been in the hip hop industry since 1992. He quickly gained popularity in the year 1999 with his major label debut album The Slim Shady LP. He has been listed as one of the greatest artists of all time in many magazines like The Rolling Stone. He even founded his own record label, Shady Records.

Emiinem is also known as his alter ego Slim Shady, but his real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III. Eminem is also an actor. He had a small part in the movie "The Wash" and was in the semi-autobiographical movie "8-Mile". He was also given an award for Best Original Song "Lose Yourself". Although the movie 8-Mile was shot in Detroit, Eminem's hometown, Eminem said that the movie was not about his life, but it was a representation of what goes on in Detroit. Eminem played as Jimmy in the movie. Eminem also wrote an autobiography of his life named after the song called "The Way I Am" which was published on October 31 2008. In the autobiography he talks about his life, drugs, his rise to fame, and has never before seen photography of his life.

After this, Eminem started to slowly change his life around. He started originally in 2002 but then started using Ambien sleeping pills for his sleeping problems. Then he got addicted to these and had to cancel his Anger Management Tour in August 2005. Eventually he went to rehab for treatment on "dependency on sleeping medication." In 2009 Eminem talked about suicide in an interview, he said that sometimes he just wanted to give up and let it all go, but now Eminem has sobered up. Over Eminem is the best selling artist of the 2000's decade and has sold more than 90 million albums worldwide making him one of the best selling music artists in the world. He also has over 1 billion views on his youtube view page. He has been named best rapper alive in 2008, and in 2009 he was named the artist of the decade. In 2010, Eminem's music generated over 94 million streams, more than any other music artist. In 2011 he was named "The King of Hip-Hop", Many people don't like him because of his music, and think everything he says in his songs is true but they don't really know who he is.
