Born Eric Wright in 1964, Easy-E grew up with hopes like so many young men from the streets whop wanted to be big. First starting off selling drugs then did something positive for once and started his own record label Ruthless Records. In the beginning it didn't go off that well but then he signed up and coming artist Ice Cube and DR.Dre. Ice Cube began writing for the label. When the signing company refused to take one of the songs titled "Boyz in the hood" they formed the group N.W.A (n@#*as with attitude) They later got another member dj yella. They started what today is called gangsta rap.
N.W.A'S debut album "N.W.A and the posse" a party-oriented was largely ignored upon its 1987 release. The following year they added M.C. Ren then they revamped their sound innovation and in the late 1988 they released "Straight outta of Compton," a hardcore rap record that became an instant hit with virtually no help at all. They were notorious for their hardcore rap. The F.B.I later sent a warning letter to Ruthless and its co partner stating that they watch their step. Most of the threat departed along with Ice Cube when he left in 1989. Over the next few years Easy and Dre departed making Easy go solo because of clashing egos. Even though Easy went solo the transition went quite smoothly. In 1988 he released Easy Does it, which would be his only full length album.
In 1993 Easy-E took a bold leap to get on Dr.Dre with the the unfinished of 187umkilla and it attracted major attention. On March 20Th 1995 in a publicized statement Easy announced he had HIV. Not knowing how sick he was, Easy later died in a hospital in LA. Many people think of him as a thug but I consider him a hero for what he did in the rap industry.
EASY-E REST IN PEACE
