Erica Drake

my momma!
my momma!

Hello how are you doing today. I am just writing to let you know who my hero is, my mother Erica Drake. To some she is just another tall female. But to me she is a MVP; Mother that is Very Special. She has spent her life going through ups and downs just like every one else, but she has overcome every up and down just like a soldier! I know I do not always show her that I am appreciative of everything that she does but I really am. I appreciate everything she has ever done to and for me. Most of all I love her and that love will never change or fade at all.

I know that without her I would not be here today or be the person that she has taught me to be. I know that I do a lot of things that I should not but I do them anyway, and I know that if I ever got into any big trouble she'd always be there talking to me about what I did wrong and teaching me how to grow from it. She's always telling me not to be like her because she believes she makes too many mistakes but to me she's the "Ultimate Mother". The one that's there for you to kiss your boo boo (even though 15). The one that gives me 10 or 15 dollars even though she might not ever see it again or if she will she won't see it for awhile. The one that's not there for you when you know you need to learn it for yourself once in a while.

My mother has two beautiful daughters, Alexis and Shuntoya. Not knowing whether her babies would be deaf, blind, fat, skinny, ugly, deformed, or not alive, but I am glad that she took risks to have us two. I know I complain and complain and complain some more about my life but I've learned that there are many many people out there in the world who do not have anywhere near the things that I have and sometimes I feel so ashamed for it because I get all these things from my mother and I don't even deserve them.

I submitted my mother as my hero because she truly is my hero in every way someone could even picture a hero. She doesn't have wings, a sword, a diaper and an arrow, or even a magic wand. But she will always be my hero. Even when I'm 40 and she's 60 she will always be the "Ultimate Mother" in my heart!
