Frank Sinatra

Francis "Albert" Sinatra was one of the best actor-singers of all time. His music career began in the late thirties during the swing era. He started his career with Harry James which helped Sinatra get on the map as a professional singer until 1939 when bandleader Tommy Dorsey asked Sinatra to join his band which marked the beginning of Sinatra's long successful career.

Frank Sinatra born from immigrant parents in 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey. Frank Sinatra's singing career began as a singing waiter when he was young in 1939. Frank met Harry James in June of 1939 and signed a contract as a singer for 75 dollars a week.In September of 1939 Frank met Tommy Dorsey, Dorsey asked him to be in his band. Frank signed a contract and was released by Harry James into Tommy's band. After having much success Tommy's band Sinatra left in 1942 to pursue a solo career. There was a rumor that Tommy did not want to let Sinatra out of their contract and that Sinatra's involvement with the mafia began there with Willie Moretti who "persuaded" Tommy to let him out of their contract .

After being released from Tommy's band Sinatra's career rocketed upwards in 1944 Sinatra released his hit single "All or nothing at All". He continued to produce songs through out the forties until in the 1950's. Sinatra hit the peak of his career. Sinatra came out with "come fly with me" and "I've got you under my skin" he also was the leader and founder of the Rat Pack which consisted of Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin. He continued to entertain audiences throughout his life up until his death in 1998. Frank Sinatra was my hero because he was a smart intelligent man with a great talent and was just a huge icon in the 20th century.
