"Fought 42 men, 42 came up short" - Floyd Mayweather

Floyd "Money" Mayweather is known to be the greatest boxer of today's era. In my opinion he is the greatest boxer of all time. He has fought in 42 professional fights and he has come up victorious in 42 fights. Floyd Mayweather is an icon throughout the boxing world and the real world as well. He has his own foundation that is set up to help children who are in poverty. This man is my hero for many different reasons. He has taught me many valuable lessons about life and what is to be learned for the future. I think Floyd Mayweather deserves more than a simple recognition from me for being a hero.

The reasons I chose Floyd Mayweather for my hero are: he is a dominant athlete and he is a great role model. I have watched many of his fights and in every one he has come out victorious. Another reason why he is my hero is, he is just like me. A lot of people say that I am cocky, I would agree with them. A part of Floyd's boxing game is his trash talking. Floyd Mayweather is the cockiest athlete I know. Like they say, winners are cocky. I love watching this man compete, because he loves winning and he proves that you can do anything. This man influences me so much, I compete and I act just the way this man does. Those are the reasons why Floyd Mayweather is my hero.

Floyd Mayweather was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 24th 1977. Growing up for this man was not easy at all. He was born into a family of boxers and drug dealers. His father, Floyd Mayweather SR., was a professional boxer along with his two brothers Roger and Jeff. What many people do not realize though is, both of his parents were drug addicts. His father was a drug dealer on the side of boxing, which caused much frustration to the rising star. He used to come home and beat Floyd and take all his anger out on him. On one occasion when Floyd was a baby, a drug deal went bad and his father used him as a shield to block him against an armed gunman. Like they say, something good comes out of something bad. The one good thing Mayweather took out of this situation was how to fight. When he was 3 years old his father started teaching him how to box. It continued throughout his whole childhood until the present. The rough living is what caused him to be the boxer he is today.

The biggest reason he is a hero is his foundation. The Floyd Mayweather Foundation is set up to help underprivileged kids. He founded this organization so he could ensure that no kids will grow up like he did. So far, for the 3 years his foundation has been going, he has donated over 18 million dollars to impoverished kids. He has helped over 800 kids that were in bad situations and he is willing to help more. I think this is what really puts Floyd Mayweather over the top. This is another reason why he is my hero.

There are many qualities that define this man as hero. He is a great role model and is an icon throughout the world. This man deserves way more than what he has. Many people say that he is a punk and is cocky, but in reality he is a great man. Floyd Mayweather is my hero, and he always will be.
