Chris Farley

by Murray MacSween

Christopher Crosby Farley, who was born on February 15, 1964, grew up in Madison, Wisconsin. He studied theatre and communications on Marquette University. After finishing University Chris was in the cast of the Second City Theatre, where he was discovered by the producer of the great comedy-show Saturday Night Live.

Comedian - "Comedy was all in the family for the Farleys, and many of the "inside" jokes they shared would go on to end up in Chris' movies."

"Chris loved to insert family jokes and phrases into his routines and movies" says brother Tom, "sometimes, I'd be the only one laughing hysterically in the theater at these hidden one-liners." I think that Chris Farley's comedy makes him a hero because laughing builds self confidence.

Charitable - Chris Farley is not only a comedian, he is very charitable. When Chris Farley was alive he made many great donations to childrens funds and did anything he could possible do to help someone who needed it.

Dedicated - Because of Chris Farley's abuse with drugs he has put together a Chris Farley Foundation that wants to challenge and empower kids to respond differently when confronted by pressure from their peers to use drugs and alcohol. This program is to teach kids not to get peer- pressured into drugs.

Chris Farley loved his family, his fans, and his friends dearly and it always showed in his work. He will be sorely missed and his laughter and gentle spirit will be remembered forever.
