Passengers on Philadelphia Flight 93 experienced what no person should. The morning of September 11, 2001, Flight 93 took off as usual to its destination. However, none of the forty- four passengers, including the terrorists, would be returning. They endured probably one of the scariest incidents. I honor what they did; the passengers knew they were going to die, but still wanted to put up a fight.
September 11, 2001 started out as normal as a morning could, and now the date will be remembered forever. Terrorists from the Al Qaeda group hijacked four American planes and flew three of them into major American buildings. Around 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning, three planes took off from Boston Logan Airport carrying passengers, along with unexpected hijackers. The first two, American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 hit the World Trade Towers, in New York. The third, American Airlines 77, hit the Pentagon, in Virginia.

The last and final captured flight, United Airlines Flight 93 was the last plane with reported activity. September 11, will always be remembered. When I think of that day I think about Flight 93 and what they underwent. I consider all of the passengers aboard that flight heroes. The flight was delayed about forty minutes a little before the first plane crashed into the Trade Centers. The plane was headed for its destination for approximately thirty minutes, and the route was suddenly redirected. Around 9:16 a.m. the plane was reported hijacked, but it didn’t crash until ten. Ten of the forty four passengers made final calls to their loved one, telling them what was happening. The passengers were in turn told what happened to the other planes that had also been hijacked.
The plane crashed around ten in the morning in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Three of the ten passengers’ loved ones, of the passengers who called, noted they were going to gang up and try to stop the terrorists. Thomas Burnett told his wife, "I know we're all going to die. There are three of us who are going to do something about it." Since the plane crashed, and caught on fire there isn’t physical evidence stating the passengers brought down the plane. However, they were going to try. The last recording heard right before the terrorists crashed the plane were the passengers on the verge of overcoming the terrorists.

The passengers aboard Philadelphia Flight 93 are heroes. They showed courage, even when they were practically looking death in the face. There wasn’t any escaping it either, so they decided to seize control and became superheroes. Even if they didn’t succeed they made attempts at stopping the terrorists from hurting anyone else. The terrorists reportedly had guns and even a bomb with them. Being able to be brave and stand up to that, shows nerve beyond everything.
