My hero is Cathy Freeman she’s a world champion runner. She was born in Queensland, Australia on February 16, 1973. Cathy and I have the love of running and respect for other people. She runs the 400 meter dash. She has also been on a relay team the 4X400.
Cathy had a long-term relationship with Nick Bideau that ended in acrimony, legal wrangling over her endorsement earnings. Then she married Sandy Bodecker, a Nike executive, in 1999. Then in February 2003 she announced their separation and now she lives alone. One time she said “I don’t want to be rich” and “as long as my family and loved ones are there, I’m happy.” She also has 4 houses and one of them is in {London}.
Her life changed when she got 2nd In the 400 meter final at Atlanta Olympic stadium. Then everyone wanted to talk to her, get to know her, and grab a piece of her. She won her first medal at an athletics championship when she was 8 years old.
Cathy got to wave the Australia and the Aboriginal flag during the victory lap in the arena in Victoria. She also got to light the cauldron at the start of the 2000 Olympic games and won a gold medal in the 400 meter event in Athens {1997} and Seville {1999}.
After her marriage she struggled for form and motivation after losing to upcoming Australian runner Jana Pittman. During her career she ran the 200 meter, 400 meter, 4X400 relay and, 4X100 relay. Then on July 15, 2003 she announced her retirement from competitive running but she still runs 5k’s for fun.
