George Lucas at a photoshoot |
George Walton Lucas was born in 1994 on May 14 in Modesto, California and he is still alive today. He was the son of a stationary store owner and he was raised on a walnut ranch and went to school in Modesto Junior College. Later in life he went to Southern California film school. There he started to learn the ways of making a film on all the different parts of making a film. During the time he was in USC, George Lucas made several short films like the on Electronic Labyrinth. With the movie he took First prize in the National Student Film Festival in 1967-1968. During the years to come he would help several people make movies but in order help people make movies you first have to watch how to do it. The year of 1967 Warner Brothers awarded him a scholarship to help and observe the making of the film “Finian’s Rainbow,” which was directed by ULCA grad Francis Ford Coppola. The next year he worked with him again and made a short movie about the directing of filmmaking. The two guys shared the same common vision of the starting of an independent film production. Then in 1969 they both moved to Northern California where they founded the American zoetrope.
George Lucas has done lots of things. For example he has made the Star Wars Trilogy. He has also been the assistant producer to many films and he has even written his own movie and had other people be the producers, like Willow and many more.
This person is a hero to me because even though he dropped out of school he still made something of his life and he became someone great and it is just the way that he always has done it that is what makes him my hero. He is important to me because he has inspired me that even though I am not good at one thing I can still make something of my life and that I can still be someone even if I am not good at things. There are other things out there and I just have to find something that I am good at. And he has shown me what a little imagination and patience can for you. It can make a huge thing out of one small idea and just build off of it.
When he almost died he realized how little we hang on to life. He noticed that everyday is a day to live and make something and even though he was a horrible student in school, after the accident he noticed that you have to apply yourself and I agree with that. I suck at school but I will apply myself to things I would like to do like he wanted to make movies and look at where is. He has 6 movies out that has tons of fans and everyone likes them. I love his books and the detail that he puts into his work and the time he takes to make things so that they make sense and so that people understand them and so the movies and book are not missing any information.
