Lots of people see veterinarians as doctors who take care of their pets. I see them as heroes who save innocent animals who are sick or hurt. My hero is someone who has even helped my dog, Snickers. His name is Dr. Greg Biehly, a wonderful vet who has cared for hundreds of sick animals and has reunited them with a caring owner.

As a teenager, Dr. Biehly had the experience of delivering a baby calf when the mother was dying. From this experience he decided that he wanted to learn about and spend his life helping animals. Dr. Biehly lives in Austin, Texas, with a nice family. He even has a lot of animals at his house that he cares for. He was born in Cameron, Texas, on April 3. Dr. Biehly went to Texas A&M University to learn how to be a veterinarian. He has taken his life to the animals and even opened a veterinarian clinic. He has done a lot for animals. Dr. Biehly helps class pets when they are sick. He can really help any animal, no matter what their size. He has even helped an elephant right down to a tiny fish.

Dr. Biehly has many accomplishments in his life time as being a vet. He has helped many school animals that need help and volunteers for schools. He tries to save animals with no homes every day. One of the accomplishments that’s wonderful to me is when he saved Snickers, my dog, when he ate a golf ball and it plunged into his stomach.

Heroes can be anyone in the world. My hero is someone who is recognized in my community. He has helped many animals in Austin, Texas. He has taught me many things about helping animals. That’s why Dr. Greg Biehly is my hero.
