Glenn Donald McGrath

When you think of a hero you normally think of someone big like superheroes, but sometimes heroes can be someone who changed the world in a good way like Glenn McGrath did. Glenn McGrath is a hero because he helped the world by opening a breast cancer foundation.

Glenn McGrath is my hero; his full name is Glenn Donald McGrath. Glenn was born on the 9th February 1970 in Dubbo, NSW in Australia. In 1999 Glenn married Jane Louise Steele, later they had two children, James and Holly. Jane McGrath found out that she had breast cancer in 1997, as years went by she then found out that she was diagnosed with bone and brain cancer. Jane then died in 2008 at the age of 42, but before she died Glenn and Jane McGrath started a breast cancer foundation, called the McGrath Foundation.

Even though Jane died Glenn is still continuing the McGrath Foundation in the memory of Jane, and it still raises money today. Glenn isn’t only a hero because he helped the world; he is also a famous cricket player. He is one of the most highly medium-fastest cricket bowlers in cricketing history. Glenn also wrote “The Glenn McGrath Barbecue Cookbook: Barbecue with the Master”, and he is also known for hunting razorbacks in Australia.

Jesus helped lots of people that were blind and cured people that were injured or hurt. Also when Jesus cured the ten blind men and only one man came back and said thank you. And Glenn opened a breast cancer foundation for women with breast cancer. That's how Glenn’s actions relate to Jesus’ actions when he cured people. And today the world is still continuing the work of Glenn McGrath by raising money for the foundations. Today lots of other people are opening foundations and helping by raising money for sick people.

Not always do heroes have to be someone big; it can even be you if you just help people that are in need. Even though Glenn is a famous cricketer and is kind of big in life he still helped the world. So basically everyone can help and be a hero but only if you try to help. People in the world nowadays should help by raising money for foundations or maybe donate something.
