Imagine living life as a competitive dancer, then all of a sudden being diagnosed with cancer! What cancer, you might ask? Osteosarcoma, a rare kind of bone cancer. Gabi Shull has continued to kick cancer's butt since 2011. She has become fearless, bold, and devoted while dancing through it.

Fearless describes Gabi Shull in several ways. First of all, going through all of her treatments it takes a fearless mind. She had to go through a treatment called chemotherapy, but you might know it as chemo. Gabi needed to stay calm and think of the good side of things. That takes fearlessness. Also, she has to be fearless to lose her leg. Without the use of her leg nobody knew if she will be able to dance again, but Gabi still believed she would. In addition to that, she was told that the less she worries the faster she will recover. She wanted to recover as soon as possible so she could try to dance again. All of these take a good dose of fearlessness.

Gabi Shull has a heroic quality of Boldness. She has to be bold to go out in public every day. Even in just getting food, people stare and talk about her. She is as talked about as a new hit song. In fact, Gabi also has to be bold to tell those who ask, "What happened?" To tell them her story she must be bold. Lastly, Gabi Shull has to be bold to dance, as every dancer does, but she has a little extra boldness.

Gabi must stay devoted. First, she was so devoted to her dance that she used her love of dance to keep her encouraged to learn to walk again. Next, Gabi was devoted to keep fighting and stay alive through the process of cancer. She could've chosen to give up, but she stayed devoted. Above all, Gabi is now devoted to find a cure for cancer. She has partnered up with The Truth 365 to spread awareness.

Cancer has shaped Gabi Shull's world in both good and different ways. Such as becoming devoted, bold, and fearless has shaped her life in a great way. Other things, such as losing part of her leg have shaped her life in a different way. Can you become a hero with just doing everyday things?
