I think a hero is someone who is brave and leads us to make the best decisions possible. A hero is someone who you look up to and you want to emulate.

My hero is George Washington. He was born on February 22, 1732. He lived in Colonial Beach, Virginia. He retired in 1797 and was 67 years old when he died on December 14, 1799. He was the first elected President of the U.S.A.

I think George Washington was a great hero because he was the general of the American army and the first President of the U.S.A. He was very self-motivated and was a brave patriotic person.

George Washington was a messenger during the French and Indian Wars. He went on many dangerous missions for his superiors. He was made the Commander in Chief during the American Revolutionary War. He suffered many hardships while Commanding his troops to victory. The first United States Congress "voted to pay Washington a salary of $25,000 a year — a large sum in 1789. Washington, already wealthy," said no to the salary, since he thought everyone would think he only became President for the money.
