Grandpa Weiss

My hero is Grandpa Weiss. His birthday is October 20th, 1919. My Grandpa is known for being in World War II. He was born on a farm in the town of Dominion City, Manitoba but now he lives in Airdrie, AB.

My Grandpa Weiss used to golf and curl, but he is 90 now so he can't do that much. My Grandpa Weiss had to leave for war for three years. My Grandpa said, "It was a bad time because many lives were heartbroken because people passed away." Grandpa was a farmer for most of his life after he came back from the war. He had two daughters. One of them is my grandma.

He taught me to have courage in everything you do. Also he has made me appreciate being a Canadian because in the war he fought for freedom. He is very hard at working and responsible. He also had a good sense of humor and likes to laugh. My Grandpa's hero is his older brother Bill, because he looked up to him when he was growing up on the farm and learned how to take care of himself because Bill taught him how to do that.

My Grandpa Weiss has inspired me to see that dreams come true. Also to believe if you try hard you can succeed. It is a dream come true to have him as my Grandpa.
