My hero is Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi was born in 1869 at Porbandar, Gujarat, India on October 2 and died on January 30 1948 in New Delhi, India. He is my hero because he was against warfare.
When Gandhi was young, his father was the Prime Minister. He was married by his parents' arrangements to Kasturba Makhanji. He had four sons, Harilal Gandhi, Manilal Gandhi, Ramdus Gandhi, and Devdus Gandhi. He went to University College London to train as a barrister.
Gandhi was a very loving person. He was strongly against warfare. He was not afraid to say no. He was a first hand witness to violence when he was thrown off a train, beaten, and kicked out of hotels.
Gandhi was very significant. He fought for the rights of the South African Indians, went on hunger strikes to show he was determined, and fought to lower salt taxes.
Gandhi’s biggest obstacle was trying to keep peace during World War 2. The congress did not like his idea and went to war without considering his reasons.
