Gordon Ramsay is an amazing chef. He never gave up on reaching his goal. A hero is someone who you can look up to. Someone who won’t discourage you from pursuing your dreams. In my family, we are all chefs. We cook together, and love to make plates of food up. The number one chef in my family is Timothy. He wants to open up his own restaurant some day. We all support him in the decisions that he will make. In my opinion, Gordon Ramsay meets all of my standards of being a hero.

My hero is Gordon Ramsay. He was born on November 8, 1966, in Johnston, Scotland. He was raised in Scotland by a father that beat him. He described his father as a "drunk alcoholic." Gordon described his childhood as "hopelessly itinerant," because he was always moving, and was never able to stay in one place. Growing up was very hard, but he never gave up, and I admire that. Gordon played football and received many knee injuries. He tried many sports, until he realized that he wanted to become a chef.

When he started chef training, it took him three tries, but he did not give up. That is a whole three years of training. I know I would have quit by then. Gordon now hosts one of the more popular television shows watched today. Hell's Kitchen is show in which Chef Ramsay chooses a top chef, out of a group of 12, to own their own restaurant. He has proved that hard work will pay off someday.

Today, he 40 years of age, and still a chef. He made a big difference as a hero by showing that you should never give up on your goal. Ramsay owns 17 restaurants, and cooks many different varieties of cuisine. He is also in seven T.V. shows. Looking back on what Chef Ramsay has gone through in his life to where he is today, I see that he is a testament to hard work and a belief in yourself. A Hero is someone you look up to, and someone you can say: "This is my hero, and this is why," and not be embarrassed. A hero is someone who never gives up. Chef Gordon Ramsay pursued his goals and reached them.
