Holly Elizabeth Barclay

Me and Holly!

My hero is Holly Elizabeth Barclay, and she is my older sister. She was born in Kitchener, Ontario on April 16. When she was 4 months old, she and my parents moved to Prince George, British Columbia. She went to Highglen Montessori Public School until Grade 6, when we moved to Peterborough. She then attended Keith Wightman Public School, for the rest of her elementary education. She then went to PCVS for high school, in the Integrated Arts Program for drama. She now goes to Trent University.

Holly is an amazing sister, but also a great friend. I look up to her more than anyone else. She has such an awesome personality. She doesn't care what other people think of her, she is her own person. Holly is nice and caring, she never does anything mean to anyone, and is a very open-minded person. I wish that I could be the kind of uniquely fantastic person that she is!

Holly is so much fun to hang out with. Sometimes, I even hang out with her and her friends, which is a lot of fun, because all of her friends are really nice people. Holly and I laugh together, a lot. She can always make me smile. I can tell her anything, and I know I can trust her. She gives me good advice about everything. It's really easy to talk to her. She helps me to be a more outgoing person. She always tries to make me feel happy, and she has always believed in me. She was the one that encouraged me to try out for the arts program, and truly believed that I could make it.

Holly cares a lot about the environment. She is the one that convinced me to become a vegetarian. Holly is the one that tells me about important issues going on in the world. She is a very well educated person. She is in her first year of university, and loves it, which makes me want to go to university after I graduate as well. She tells me about the interesting things she learns in her classes. She is taking Women's Studies, Indigenous Studies, Philosophy, and English. Holly has been to many interesting places, such as Europe, Trinidad and Tobago, and all across Canada. She plans to travel more, once she is finished university. I can't wait to travel the world, and one day we are going to go on a trip together. Holly was the one that convinced me to start taking dance, and I love it. She has also introduced me to some of my favourite authors, musicians, and movies such as Michael Ondaatje, Elliott Smith, and Moulin Rouge.

I really have no idea how I could live without Holly. She is not only my sister, but one of my best friends. She has really influenced the person that I am today. She has taught me to be a better, more thoughtful person. I love her.
