Helen Collins

My hero is Helen Collins. She is from Wisconsin, USA. She landed a small plane with her husband unconsious next to her.

Helen and John Collins were flying from Florida to Wisconsin. John piloted the plane. Suddenly he fainted. Helen had little experience flying an aircraft. She had not piloted for 30 years. Besides, she had never flown the two-engine Cessna.

Helen radioed for help. She was very calm and alert.She had a faith in herself.

Two aircraft got in the air to consult Helen via radio. After circling for an hour and a half she was able to land the plane.

Helen is a very brave woman. I admire her deed.
