Harriet Tubman demonstrated to many people to be brave even when things can get bad. After she crossed the state line she could have, like many other people, forget about the freed slaves. Instead she went back and helped the hundreds of freed slaves."Over the course of 10 years, and at great personal risk, she led hundreds of slaves to freedom along the Underground Railroad, a secret network of safe houses where runaway slaves could stay on their journey north to freedom."("Harriet Tubman 'America's Library - Library Of Congress). Because of the fugitive slave law, if Tubman was caught helping slaves escape, she would be taken back and probably killed. Over time, Harriet Tubman leaf many people to freedom, despite her risk of getting caught and going back to that treacherous life she once had. As she continued to free these slaves, the want for her capture capture grew; everyone knew who she was and wanted to capture her. However that did no stop her: "At one time a $12,000 reward was offered for Tubman."("Harriet Tubman"). Even as the value as her capture grew, she continued to go back and, as a conductor, take the journey through the underground railroad and free slaves.Every Time she went back to transport more slaves she ran a high risk of being seen and taken away. Tubman showed of her bravery to many people, by helping so many people, even though the risk of her capture was high.

Harriet Tubman's determination led to her helping many slaves escape the terrible life the had back in slavery. Throughout her journey in the Underground Railroad, she never forgot her dream and did everything she could do to fulfil it or at least get one step further. "Shortly after her escape from slavery, Tubman became involved in the abolitionist movement, forming friendships with one of the black leaders of the Underground Railroad, William Still, and white abolitionist Thomas Garrett. While many of her abolitionist colleagues organized antislavery societies, wrote and spoke against slavery, and raised money for the cause"( Maxwell).Tubman had always wanted to end slavery and anything that had to do with it; and throughout the 19 trips that she took to help free slaves she always got one step closer to ending slavery for good. She proved to us that with a little bit of hard work and determination she could help change the pace of slavery one trip at a time. As Harriet Tubman once said:" 'I never run my train off the track [on my railroad], and I never lost a passenger.'"(Harriet Tubman." Contemporary Heroes and Heroines) Tubman always helped people and looked out for them in their best interests. She wouldn't let anyone die because that would take her one step away from retaining her goal of saving these slaves and bringing them to the life of being free.Tubman demonstrated her determination to all by helping so many people get to freedom.

Harriet Tubman is not only my hero, but many others hero, because she shows us bravery, determination, and inspiration. Tubman showed many people how you have to fight for what you believe in and do anything in your power to help other people. She also showed us that even once you get what you want you have to go back and think of others.Tubman inspires me, and others, in many ways. First, she never gave up on her dreams and persisted on doing everything she could to help get even one step closer to her dream: ending slavery. She always inspires me to go out and help other people even if it doesn't have my best interest in mind. She taught me and others to fight for what we believe in and help out other people know matter how many people don't agree because someone out there agrees with you and needs your help.
