Harriet Tubman was born in 1820 as a slave in Dorchester, Maryland. She led a lot of slaves to freedom.
Harriet Tubman was the "Moses of her people." She helped slave get from Dorchester, Maryland to the free states in the North. Her and her "passengers" used the Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad. The Underground Railroad was a line of houses where the runaway slaves hid during the day. They traveled by night, moving from hiding place to place, until they reached a safe destination.
"She grew up like a neglected weed- ignorant of liberty, having no experience of it." Even though she had never been free, Harriet cared so much about freedom that she made it her mission to free other slaves. She wasn't selfish; she thought about everyone but herself and helped others. Harriet overcame many dangers and never got caught as she led many slaves to freedom. She once said, "I never ran my train off the track, and I never lost a passenger."
Through hard work and determination, Harriet saved hundreds of slaves. I don't like slavery. It's not right, it isn't fair. Harriet worked with white and black people to free slaves. I believe that we should get along, we should care for each other regardless of skin color.
Harriet Tubman is my hero. I was glad to do my hero project on her. I hope you care about her ideals, too. Thank you
