Hiroshi Yamauchi

Hiroshi Yamauchi was born on November 7, 1927 and he's a Japanese businessman. He used to be the 3rd president of Nintendo starting in 1949 until he stepped down on May 31, 2002. Yamauchi was succeeded at Nintendo and made a multi-billionaire video game company that is today. He was the former chairman of Nintendo Co., Japan's second-biggest maker of video games, was the list's biggest gainer. The 79 year old rose 11 places to No. 3. "Nintendo started as a small Japanese business by Fusajiro Yamauchi near the end of 1889 as Nintendo Koppai." (wikipedia) Nintendo was originally named Marufuku. "Based in Kyoto, Japan, the business produced and marketed a playing card game called Hanafuda." (Nintendo.com) "The cards, which were all handmade, soon began to gain popularity, and Yamauchi had to hire assistants to mass produce cards to keep up with demand."(Nes-emulators.com)

Yamauchi made the Gamecube and "he believed that the GameCube would specialize in providing the best gaming system experience possible." (wikipedia.org) He then made the Xbox and Playstation 2. He then made the Nintendo Gameboy and Nintendo DS. I really enjoy playing with things that are Nintendo. Then later he made the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo shares have tripled in value since its sales of its Wii consoles and DS Portable players.

My hero lives in Kyoto, Japan and currently retired already. He's married and he has 1 child.

My hero retired from Nintendo about 6 years ago. He retired in about 2002. He's the 226th richest person in the world, who has a net worth of about $4.8 million. He's 79 years old.

I really enjoy playing Nintendo things because it makes me just feel happy. When I play his games it calms me down when I'm mad because playing Nintendo games are just so fun! I really enjoy Nintendo because my sister and brother like to play it too and it calms them down too so they don't get mad. He's my favorite hero!
