Huang Zitao, who is he? He is a person who has changed my way of seeing things. He helped me realize how fans and artists can share tears together, laugh together, and spend time together. He also helped me realize the struggle of how my trainee life will be because I'm not Korean like Korean stars, and because he's Chinese. He also helped me see that life isn't easy, but you do not have to hide your true feelings sometimes. Huang Zitao likes to be called Tao (his stage name) Tao is a Chinese man who is a Korean idol. Tao was born on May 02, 1993, in Qingdao, China. His English name is Edison Huang. He is six feet tall. Tao weights 70 kg. He is in a Korean idol group called EXO. In this group his positions are lead rapper, vocalist, and maknae(youngest in the group). There are two separate groups in this one group, one is a Korean group and the other is a Chinese/Mandarin group. His nick names given by the members, fans, SM staff and noonas (the ones who takes care of EXO ) are peach, kung fu panda, crazy frog (by staff), TaoTao, Taozi, Gucci panda, and crybaby. Tao is a conservative, sensitive, emotional, shy, sentimental, insecure at times, has a lot of ageyo(cuteness), and persistent in his task type of person. Tao graduated from University of Hong Kong, his major was music. Tao's role models are Edison Chen, Jackie Chan, Kobe Bryant, Shwan Carter, MC HotDog, DBSK,TVXQ, and Girls Generation(SNSD). Tao has been practicing martial arts since the age of five. He is Huang Zitao, my hero .

Tao helped me realize how artists and fans can share tears together, laugh together, and spend time together. He helped me realize this because on November 2011, as the third member being introduced to fans of EXO The Kung Fu Boy from China he gained enormous favor and approval from the public. However because of a short training time he undertook so much pressure, doubts,even defamation than his team mates. During this time some fans left little by little, only some stayed and cheered him on(like me). Some words of Tao's meaningful word touched people and attracted people who had ill intentions. Then, rumors were spreading around characteristics,personality, family background, everything was defamed.They even say these insulting and hurtful abusive words in front of him."A repeated slander makes others believe." Those who stayed through those times probably cried as much as I did too, and wanted to cheer him on but could not say because every time we said something he would start to overwork himself. After the times of debut they start to have small concerts, then they start to grow large, the amount of fans start to grow too. It first started from one thousand fans now the numbers of fans are pass two million. Every time they had live tours they would make funny jokes, make parodies to other songs, take lucky fans on stage, they laugh and laugh . Sometimes they even laugh until they start to cry. This is how they spend their time together. They laugh,they cry, they smile, every moments together are what he has taught and helped me realize.

Tao helps me notice how hard it will be if I become a trainee and the struggles of trainees' that are not Korean. A trainee is basically someone who is undergoing training for a job or profession. Tao is a Korean idol trainee even though he is Chinese, this is because he auditioned when SM Entertainment was having a world wide audition. He helps me understand because first when you are learning to speak Korean it is hard, so if you get it wrong you get hit on your stomach or sometimes above your bellybutton. This has happened a lot to foreign idols, yet it happened more to Tao because he had a really hard time learning Korean. The other thing that he helps me realize is that when you have vocal training it is actually harder than just karaoke. This is because when they are training you if you get it wrong and the lyrics wrong you will have to practice for a long amount of time before you can go home. Tao also helps me understand when it comes to dancing training you have to slowly take your time to practice because if you rush your dance you will then get very confused, stressed and might want to quit. The main thing he taught me is that when you are a trainee, you do get bullied as you do in school. Tao used to get bullied a lot because he only trained for a short amount of time and he is still trying to learn Korean. As Tao and the Chinese members learns Korean, the Korean members learns Chinese. This is because they will perform together at times in each language. Tao is a very inspirational person to me. To me this is not all the reasons why he helps me notice the life of a trainee.

Tao helps me discern that life really is not easy, but you still have to show your true feelings or charisma. After the sad and depressing times, in May 2013, Tao performed very actively in Happy 4 KPOP Concert in Taiwan. This was (from my point of view) the "breaking-point" for Tao. He then became the center of peoples' teasing. He used to hide so much, now, it's just his true feelings and his charisma. His teacher said that he was quiet and just played the guitar on his bed, but what Tao is, is like a naughty child when active, like a kitten when quiet. He would sit in the corner when he is tired, this is his expression of tired. There was a TV Report and there were questions and answers. So the question was why are you guys popular, the answer was [Xiumin]: Tao's character is that he can never hide his charisma, he will show his inner personality on stage honestly. On TV programs, he is really out-going and his outer actions would match his inner thoughts, without any hypocrisy. Having remained the same all along is the characteristic of Tao. I like his positive attitude against any hardships, I like his way of expressing himself by crying and laughing, the best is that he is defeated by the rumors and always proves himself with better achievements. I feel that Tao should deserve more, but that's just my opinion. I want him to shine, to shine brighter than the brightest star because he truly is inspirational. I do not want his light to be blocked away. These are probably only 5% of what he does to help me discern that life is not easy and that I have to show my true feelings.

You all now know about My Hero, Huang Zitao (Edison). He is the person who helped me see things in a different way. He who helped me realize how fans and artists share tears, laughter, and spend time together. He who also helped me take notice about a foreign trainees' life. Lastly he has helped me discern that life truly isn't easy and you "always" have to express your true feelings and charisma. Something that he said at his birthday has also inspired me; " When I was small I liked to sing, then in high school, I liked to act. After I finished high school, I found a teacher to learn about music. I then joined a lot of competitions, but most the time I would fail in the competitions. But I did not give up, I still continued chasing my dreams. And because of this dream I had given up a lot and walk till' today, walk till' now. Knowing other members, is the most happy and blessing for me." His words are really touching to me because if I were to put myself in his shoes, I would have given up already, but thanks to his words and actions I am not ever giving up on my dreams (which is the same as his dream) because now I know that I can make it if I just keep trying. I would like to thank him personally, but meeting him is only if you are truly lucky enough to because he is very busy and I hope for him to see my writing about "My Hero, Huang Zitao " Thank You very much, Tao.
