Hope Solo

My hero is Hope Amelia Solo. I have picked Hope Solo because she is a soccer player just like me! Some of her characteristics are hopeful, giving, strong, courageous, and loving. Hope has been in the Olympics, and someday I hope to be in the Olympics too. It is amazing how good she is. She is a goalie who has saved many goals. I hope someday to be as good as she is in my soccer career.

Hope was born on July 30, 1981. In Washington, Richland which is in the United States. In high school she played as a goalkeeper, she can also play as a forward. Hope played for the Washington Huskies in her youth years. Her parents divorced when she was 6, and she lived with her mother, but was still close to her dad, who was a sometimes homeless Vietnam War veteran. He was her inspiration and was a major influence in her life but he soon died in June, 2007. She was very sad about it but still kept playing soccer.

Hope plays for the Atlanta Beasts. Her number on her grease is number 1. She is 5ft 9in (1.75m). Hope has inspired many of her fans. Her inspiration is her father who had fought for his life. Hope is an amazing person who tried her best and always wanted to play in every soccer game. She always is fighting for her team, her father, and her self. She inspires me every day and every time I play in goal.

Every year I tried to watch soccer and watch the Olympics. This is the second time I have heard of Hope Solo. Now that I have done a project on her I know so much about her. She now inspires me and others who enjoy watching her play. Now every time I hear that the Washington Huskies are going to be playing, I am going to watch. The best thing is that she not only inspires me but she inspires others and even herself.

Hope Solo has inspired me so much. Now that I know so much about her, I can answer questions you have about her. She is very important to many. Some day I hope to be as good as she is in soccer! A goalie does not seem important in a game because all they do is stand in a goal waiting for someone to come and shoot on them. They are very important though, because they save a goal or a defense's mistake of not stopping the person from shooting the ball and getting a goal. So no matter what people say, a goalie is very important to the game of soccer and being a goalie is a big responsibility that Hope Solo has taken.
