There is a person in this world that is your idol, your hero. Someone that makes you work for your goals. For me, that person is Mia Hamm. Soccer is her passion and well, she is great at it. As a soccer player myself, it inspires me and a lot of other people to do well.

Mia Hamm is not just a fantastic soccer player, she is a great person too. She created a charitable foundation for people with bone marrow disease. Also she writes books for children and young adults.

As a small child, Mia was crazy over soccer. All the practice as a young child just paid off. It was part of the way she got into the woman’s soccer hall of fame. The achievement that was accomplished by Mia was that she scored more international goals that any male or female soccer player.

In Mia’s early childhood she was fast and her brother used her as a “secret weapon” in games like capture the flag. Not only did she play soccer, she participated in basketball and football. At age fifteen, Hamm became the youngest player to play for the USA national soccer team. What few people know is that Mia’s full name is Mariel Margaret Hamm.

There are all different kinds of people and all different kinds of heroes. Mia Hamm is one of the most outstanding heroes. She can do anything when she puts her mind to it. Mia Hamm is the greatest soccer player of all time.
