Heroes keep going no matter how hard the challenge. A hero is extraordinary and impacts peoples' lives. It does not matter if you are famous or not. If you achieve your goal or deed to do well, you are a hero. Clara Haskil of Romania is a piano player, violinist, and famous interpreter of Mozart. She is considered a hero to many people in Romania.

Clara Haskil was born in Bucharest, Romania, on January 7, 1895, and died on December 7, 1960. She is considered a hero to Romanians for her musical talent. At ten years old, Clara entered the Paris Conservatory to study classical piano. At fifteen she graduated with a Premier Prix. She began to tour Europe; her career was stopped by one of many physical illnesses. Haskil suffered scoliosis, and frequent illnesses combined with extreme stage fright, kept her from success, but she kept going no matter how hard it was.

Clara is considered the most famous interpreter of Mozart. She spent most of her life in poverty, and she never received the acclaim she deserved until after WWII. The Clara Haskil Competition was founded in 1963 to honor the memory of the Swiss pianist (of Romanian origin). It takes place every two years and welcomes young pianists from all over the world.

Clara Haskil had many qualities such as dedication, devotion, and perseverance because she just kept going even though she suffered many illnesses. She influenced and inspired people because she showed no matter how hard anything in life is, you just do it and you’ll finally succeed. She worked very hard and was dedicated to her music. This showed she had a great deal of perseverance.
