Imam Hussain

Imam Hussain(AS) was a man that sacrificed himself and his family for justice, truth and to ensure that people do not stray away from a path that protects them to a path that sends them into harm. He believed in the religon of Islam that was passed on by his grandfather Prophet Mohammed(PBUH). He was a great leader of Islam and the third Imam and the second son of Imam Ali ibin abi Talib(AS) and Fatima Al Zahra(AS) the daughter of Prophet Mohammed(PBUH).

Imam Hussain(AS) was born on the 3rd of Shaban year 4 A.H. Imam Hussain was a courageous man he fought in the battle of Karbal. This battle took place around 600 CE. Imam Hussain had an army force of only 73 male members and his opponent was 30,000 heavily harmed forces lead by Yazid ibn Muawiya. Imam Hussian was determined to fight his enemy and keep his belief in Islam going. Shiite Muslims believe that Hussain his family served a significant purpose and sacrifice that was shown by Mohammed's family. Imam Hussain's martyrdom of himself and family and supporters are commemorated during the Holy month of Muharram the 10 days of Muhrram are known as Ashura.

I choose this person as my hero because he showed no fear to his enemy and was a great fighter. He saved the religion of Islam. Although he only had 73 men with him during his battle and they all died they won because the religion of Islam his all over the world today. I see him as a hero like no other, he wasn't scared of anyone or anything. And that is why he is my hero.

Imam Hussain and his army were all killed in the battle called Karbala. His family was also killed in in this battle. They got hurt by their enemy because they didn't want Imam Hussain to be in power of the Islamic nation at that time. The Muslims and Imam Hussain and his army lost the war but not the people's belief in Islam. Imam Hussain was a great Imam and a great son and brother, he died for a great cause and served a great deal of love for Islam.
