Ian drifting his 4 door Nissan |
My hero is Ian Fournier and what he does is truly awesome. He's a Formula D driver and is the only Canadian Formula D driver in the championships. He drifts cars around the tightest corners on any track and drifting is a hard skill to learn. Ian grew up in Chiliwack, B.C. and was a mechanic for a couple of years. He started to drift when his good friend invited him to organized events at the local track in 2007.

Ian started to take racing really serious because his skill grew really fast. In 2008 he started to attend other events up North West. That includes Evergreen Speedway. He became a regular at the track and his skill was still growing. After two and a half years he got his professional drifting license and started to race against professional drivers. In 2010 he finished 6th in the finals with a score of 225.25 at the Evergreen drift event season.

The car that he uses is a 1992 Nissan Skyline R32, it has 420 horsepower. The tires he uses are Falken RT615. His car is also made to be safe, just in case of an accident on the track. The team he is a part of is called Drift Safari. It is a team of Canadian drifters from the Pacific Northwest that are in the Formula D. They bring the spirit of brotherhood to the local areas and also near by areas.
Ian can do what most people can't and I find that pretty amazing. Ian has put a lot of work into his passion to get where he is right now. He is one of the few Canadian Drifters in the Formula D and one of the best Drifters I have ever seen. Ian Fournier is a legend of drifting.
