Inez Milholland was born on August 6, 1886, in New York and died on November 25, 1916. Inez Milholland went to college in the U.S.A. She starred as Romeo in a school play. Inez joined the Women’s trade Union, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. She also influenced the women’s movement in America. Inez worked for the voting right for women. She marched the women’s strike. Leading them Inez wore white robes and was riding a white horse. She became a leader and a popular public speaker. She collapsed during a speech, and died in hospital ten weeks later. Her last public words where: “Mr. President how long must women wait for liberty?” Inez Milholland was buried at her parent’s estate in Essex Country in New York. Inez was 30 years old when she died.
Inez Milholland made a difference by standing up for the women of America. I chose her because she did so many good things that made her a hero, and she risked her life trying to do the right thing for American women and the world.
