In honor of Judy Blume, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Judy Blume because she is one of my favorite authors. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about her.

Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Judy Blume was born on February 12, 1938. Judy was born as Judy Sussman as a child. As a child Judy Blume grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey with the exception of two years in Miami Beach, Florida. Judy’s parents’ names are Rudolph and Esther Sussman. When Judy Blume got married to John Blume in 1961, she had a child Randy Lee. In 1963 they had a child named Lawrence Andrew. Judy and John got divorced in 1975. In 1976, she got married to Thomas A. Kitchens. They were divorced in 1978. In 1979 she married George Cooper, with whom she had a stepdaughter named Amanda.

The foundation of heroism is education. Whenever Judy Blume was a child she went to school in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Then when her brother got sick with a kidney infection, they moved to Miami Beach in Florida and went to school there. After elementary school she attended Battin High School. Then she enrolled in Boston University. Then after two weeks she got sick with mononucleosis and had to leave. She then transfered to New York University and got her bachelor’s degree in 1960.

Hard work contributes to heroism. Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret was published in 1970 and established her reputation. Her honest novels are based on her childhood and adolescence. Judy Blume has published over 17 books that describe the experiences of young people. Other readers appreciate Blume’s work. Those are her career highlights.

Judy Blume is important to mankind and changed the world. Judy Blume is famous for her children’s books. Some examples are Freckle Juice, Otherwise known as Sheila the Great, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, and Superfudge. She writes many more books and that is why she is famous. Judy Blume changed the world because she wrote all her novels and children’s books and she reached out and touched her readers because most of her novels were real life experiences and a lot of them might not be some of her experiences but they touched out to the readers.
