In honor of Judy Blume, I did research about this hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Judy Blume because she’s a famous author for children and adults. After the research, I was glad I did because I learned so much about her.

Who knew such a normal beginning would give the world such a hero? Judy Blume was born on February 12, 1938 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Her parents’ names are Rudolph (father) and Esther (mother) Sussman. She also has one brother, David. Her favorite book as a child was “Madeline” written by Ludwig Bemelmans. She would check it out of the public library and read it many times. When she grew up, she got married to John Blume, in which she had two kids with him, Randy Lee in 1961 and Lawrence Andrew in 1961. When she and John divorced, she later married Thomas A. Kitchens. Once again, she got divorced and married George Copper, in which she had one stepdaughter with him, Amanda in 1987.

The foundation of heroism is education. Judy Blume went to Battin High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. After she graduated from there, she went on to Boston University. But, after two years attending there, she got an illness and dropped out of the University. Two years later, when she overcame her illness, she went to New York University for writing. She graduated from New York University and was ready to become an author.

Judy Blume is now famous for publishing children and adult books. Some books she has written over the years are, “The One in the Middle is the Green Kangaroo”, “Are You There God, It’s Me Margaret?”, “Iggie’s House”, “Freckle Juice”, “Superfudge”, “Blubber”, “Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great”, “Forever”, and many many more.

Judy Blume is important to mankind and changed the world. She is important because she helps young readers start an education. She also helps adults continue to read. Without Judy Blume, most people wouldn’t have the guidance through life situations that she teaches in her books.
