Judy Blume once said, “The best books come from someplace deep inside…. Become emotionally involved. If you don’t care about your characters, your readers won’t either.” In honor of Judy Blume, I did research about my hero in “Biography Today.” I chose Judy because I think she is interesting.

Judy Blume was born on February 12, 1938. Her parents were Rudolph and Esther Sussman. Judy lived most of her youth in Elizabeth, New Jersey, with the exception of living in Miami, Florida, for two years. While growing up, she enjoyed readying, dancing, movies, and radio shows. She also likes needlepoint, and watching the New York Mets.

Judy’s first school was a public school. When Judy graduated with honors from Battin High School, she enrolled at Boston University, but she became ill with mononucleosis after only two weeks and had to leave school. A year after she got sick, she transferred to New York University and got her bachelor’s degree.

Judy decided to start a family with her husband John instead of going on with her career. After her and her husband, John, got married they had two children, Lawrence and Randy. John and Judy got a divorce in 1975. In 1976, she got married to Thomas A. Kitchens. They got divorced in 1979. Judy’s third marriage was with George Cooper 1987.

At first, Judy didn’t want to become a writer. It took her two and a half years to get her first book published. She has written many books since then. She writes about all different subjects.

As a child she enjoyed all different activities. She graduated high school and went to college. She was divorced and married a few times. Blume also has written many books.
