This is my brother Julian at Half Moon Bay (i got this picture from my camera ) |
It's the city of Hayward, California. It's eight in the evening at Kaiser Hospital where the Cabrera family have been granted with their first child. His name is Julian Cabrera. Three years later he was no longer a single child. He has a sister. That sister is me, who is going to tell you what I know about my dear brother and maybe you'll know why I choose him to be my hero.
From what I have been told, Julian had an interesting childhood. When he was six years old, our family went on a camping trip. Julian was playing with a stick he found on the ground. Unfortunately he stabbed his left eye. He was rushed to Standford Hospital as quickly as my dad could drive. Thank goodness that the doctor could fix it the best that he could. We thank God that he didn't go blind. Although he didn't go blind, he still wears glasses to this day, and if you look very closely into his brown eyes, you can see it left a battle scar. But his childhood was not always bad. Around the 4th and 5th grade, he discovered that he had a hidden talent. That talent is drawing.
Every day, from sunrise to sunset, I would see him with a piece of paper and a pencil in his hand. I would glance over and see what he would be drawing. Most of the time, they were humorous. Sometimes he would make little comic books out of his drawings, and throughout the year he made a series of comic books left and right. I would help him create his stories and give him ideas. When he got into high school, he didn't need my help with his projects. He didn't need it. All his drawings were either very life-like or very artistic in his very unique way. As a career, he told me he wants to be an animation graphic designer. It all made sense why. Not only can he draw but he was very also enthusiastic and good at playing video games. He would always like to play by himself but he would be nice enough to let me play along with him too. I learned a few things about video games from playing them with him but mostly by observing him.
Whenever he's not drawing or playing video games, he's usually hanging out with me or bothering me like any other brother. Whenever I have a question about school, past experiences, or any advice on anything, he usually has an answer to most questions. If not, he tries to explain it the best that he can. He tells me the times where he had made mistakes in the past and tells me to not to repeat them, or at least try not to. He's always been there for me whether it was for the ups or the downs in my life. Whatever it was, he had a way to make me smile in a way.
Julian is one interesting person to get to know if you were to ever meet him. He had sadly injured his eye, he's very artistic and gives you good advice. He's my hero because of those reasons. He can always cheer me up, and won't ever let you down. He can show you a few strategies on a video game or show off a doodle that even you can't even imagine having in your mind. He is one extraordinary person. That's why he is my hero.
