Jackie Chan Smiling for the Camera

No matter how hard life gets, do you keep trying even if everything else fails? With Jackie Chan, a famous actor who was born with a harsh, cruel and strict childhood, he always gives his best effort, when he fails he gets back up. Later in life Jackie has blossomed to be a successful, dare deviling actor that he is right now. Jackie has struggled a lot in his life especially at his childhood’s time around the late 50’s and 60’s. So Jackie tried to get into Hollywood several times, but with little success. Finally, in 1995, "Rumble in the Bronx" was released. Jackie immediately got attention for his incredible stunts and the outtakes that would eventually become his trademark amazed audiences. Jackie Chan waited a few months longer than other children to be born--instead of nine months, he took twelve. Those three extra months forced his mother to have a caesarean section, and when Jackie finally emerged, he was a whopping twelve pounds! On April 7th, 1954, Jackie Chan was born in Hong Kong. At first, Jackie got lots of small roles in movies as an extra or a stuntman. One of Jackie's first movie appearances was in a Bruce Lee film called "Enter the Dragon," in which Jackie gets thrown through a wall by Lee. When he was seven, his family sent him to join the Peking Opera School. It was here that Jackie learned martial arts, acrobatics, singing, dancing and acting. He lived at the School until the age of 17, when he struck out on his own. By Jackie being a hero he has started by creating foundations to support people in time of need by showing compassion to local communities across the world, to educating himself and others to new things. Jackie Chan is a hero by the intelligence and compassion he has given to others. By a point of view, Jackie has an immense amount of compassion and heart to the world.

Getting to your head
Getting to your head

Jackie is compassionate because of the support that he gives to people in need at the moment. Jackie starts with his compassion and humbleness with the investment of his foundations. “By seeing the unsafe roads and harsh environment, and being deeply in debt for many years when I was young has really inspired me to give others a chance to live for their dream” (Jackie Chan). As Jackie grew up poor and harshly, it shows on how he understands how life is like when it’s rough, so he goes out building foundations to get people back on their feet. A heart like Jackie is a key to his compassion and well-being to others. It’s what everyone is born with, but some people don’t take advantage of how lucky they are. So it takes them the other direction. What shaped Jackie today was his harsh childhood and being nearly in debt for him to come in this world, and living in such an unsafe environment, he really was entitled to so little things to do. “I present to you the Jackie Chan Charitable Foundation that gives others a chance to live their dream for a safe and relaxing environment to work, which also provides Scholarships to others that can’t afford a good education” (Jackie Chan). With the youth of the future he inspires kids and teenagers of all ages to make the best with what they have. When he’s not acting, he’s encouraging others to live their dream. So he dedicates his own time and effort to supporting others.

With the knowledge and intelligence of Jackie Chan he had a ton of education in his life, but in Hong Kong it was different and much stricter. Having strict educational abuse of being tortured almost every single day shaped the actor that I wanted to be today. “In Hong Kong if we made a mistake we would get a big beating. I got beaten down hard every day until graduation” (Jackie Chan). Even Though Jackie got sent back to Hong Kong it shaped him to be better and more physically minded. Having to learn education the hard way, with a beating if any errors were created, is pretty tough considering us to be lucky for it is a law that teachers are not allowed to physically abuse students. With the knowledge Jackie had he already started acting in movies as early as 8 years old and his first movie was actually in a Bruce Lee film. “When I was getting my hair pulled in a scene by Bruce Lee it really made me think, on how this was going to affect my career and it did, I began to get more and more popular” (Jackie Chan). By that quote Jackie will test his knowledge in the early stages of his career. As they say good first impressions are what producers want to see when creating a film. Even Though Jackie got sent back to Hong Kong it has created him to have a strong, young, minded mentality. Jackie has studied many subjects over the years, with good acting education and to have abilities to star in many films that are very difficult for most of us to act.

What this world needs are leaders like Jackie, without the knowledge of our educators, instructors, professors, and Gurus the civilization will slowly lead to hate and bloodshed. Like Jackie said in the movie Karate Kid “There are no such thing as bad students only bad teachers” (Jackie Chan). Even with the major struggles Jackie has been through, he persevered, and set a good example with the hardships and failures, in his life. Such as struggling to get into Hollywood, but what did he do to get into Hollywood? He got up and kept trying to chase his dream. Jackie has a big inspiration to many others by the way he fills people’s hearts and minds with the right stuff such as compassion, discipline, and intelligence. These are the Leaders that we must learn from, and carry the education from generation to generation. Finally understanding that having to persevere is one adventure, but also we must acquire from the leaders of today. By taking the knowledge that is given to us and creating opportunities that would lead to millions of discoveries.
