Jackie Chan

by Kiernan from Glenbrook Middle School

“A lot of people ask me when I do a stunt, 'Jackie, are you scared?' Of course I'm scared. I'm not Superman.”

Jackie Chan Is an action choreographer, filmmaker, comedian, producer, martial artist, screenwriter, entrepreneur, singer and stunt performer.

Why I picked Jackie Chan is that he spends time helping little kids if they need help. Jackie is an actor that doesn’t deny a talk to the press because he tells the truth no matter what he promised.

In 1976 Jackie started his first movie, Drunken Master, because Bruce Lee was in another movie at the time, but the movie was unsuccessful because he couldn’t do the same martial arts like Bruce Lee.

Jackie Chan performs most of his stunts, when he jumps off the tower in Rush Hour 3. In present time he doesn’t perform his own stunts because there is an age for your own stunts at 45. When Jackie was doing a stunt when he was 45 his blood pressure went up and you can't have that happening because you’ll have a big risk of a heart attack.

Jackie also has a music career which started when he was only 7 when he went to an opera school to learn opera. He has performed in 28 shows or concerts and still today he sings in Hollywood. Jackie Chan is a worldwide celebrity. He has been awarded the best stunt actor in 2004. Awarded best actor in 2007 and 2008.

Jackie is in a lot of television like, Family guy, Jackie Chan and the Talismans, Pokemon in China, Tekken, Dragon Ball Z and Frank's Chicken.

The reason why he does get these awards is because he respects everyone. He wouldn’t disrespect them because he thinks that is rude in too many ways. That’s why I picked Jackie Chan because he respectful to his friends, crew, and anyone else.
