A hero is someone you can look up to and be proud to know them or of them. Usually your hero inspires you to want to be like them. They can overcome anything that comes their way. Yet they still make everyone around them feel happy or safe. To me that's what Jackie Chan does.
On April 7, 1954 a hero was born. Jackie whose real name is Chan Knog-Sang was born to Charles and Lee Lee Chan. Growing up he was poor and his parents even had to borrow money from friends to pay the doctor for her surgery to have Jackie. From the time he was little his father was teaching him the ways of Kung Fu. He felt it helped build Jackie in many ways, such as strength, courage, and patience.

At age seven Jackie started going through some of the main hardships in his life. His father took on a new job and couldn't take Jackie with him, so he enrolled him in the China Drama Academy. Of the ten years Jackie had to spend at the academy he became a man. He had to because the students were treated unkindly, given just enough food to survive, and beaten if they made mistakes. After graduating from the academy Jackie became a stunt man in many Hong Kong movies since he knew neither how to read or write.
When i first started this project i chose Jackie Chan as my hero because i had watched most of his movies. I also admired him for his fighting and comedy skills. I now realize there is so much more to him than just that. He had to overcome things that most kids wouldn't even dream about, and through it all he kept his head up and never gave up. Even when he is gone someday, his memories and movies will live on forever, and Jackie Chan will always be one of my main heroes.

After being in many movies Jackie still continues acting. After being in classes and teaching, he is one of the best kung fu artists of all time. He overcame so many hardships. He started as nothing and turned into a huge star. For those reasons anyone would be lucky to consider Jackie Chan their hero.
