Do you have a hero? Some ordinary person that inspires you by his or her actions? If you don't, I have an amazing person for you, Jesus Christ. He is my hero because he is sacrificial, inspiring, and courageous.
Jesus is inspiring to me because he used his miraculous powers to do good things for people in need. For example, he gave up his life for you and me, and he fed 5,000 people with 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. He healed a blind man by spitting on dust and putting it on his eyes. He dragged a cross on his back for miles and miles. He healed Peter's mother by touching her and she got up and cooked for them. He also cast a demon out of a man because the demon was making the man sling himself in fire and glass, so Jesus told the demon to leave him and it did. He even raised a dead man named Lazarus back to life after four days because the sisters of Lazarus were crying and asking for his help.
Jesus is courageous because he stood up in front of people and spoke the truth to them, even though they didn't want to hear it, and he took a cruel beating from the Romans. Willingly taking the beating took a lot of courage. Another courageous act is described in Matthew 14:25-31.
25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. They were terrified.
26 "It's a ghost." They said, and cried out in fear.
27 But Jesus immediately said to them! "Take courage! It is
28 "Lord, if it's you," Peter replied "tell me to come to you on the water."
29 "Come." he said.
That, to me, took a lot of courage to walk on the water.
Jesus Christ is my hero because he is a strong, wonderful, caring man that gave his own life for each of us and our sins. There is not space enough on this page to tell of all the wonderful and caring things Jesus did for me and you. If you want to find out more about him, it is written in the Bible.
