Jerry F. Dawson
by Alexis from Loveland
Imagine a persevering, dedicated, and sacrificial man. You are about meet my great grandfather, Jerry Dawson. Through his work and in almost everything he does, he never gives up, always sacrifices his time for others, and puts all of his effort into everything he does. No matter what life throws at him, he almost always has a smile on his face and doesn't give in.
Secondly, Jerry F. Dawson persevered in so many ways. Jerry received his bachelor's degree, his master's degree, and then completed his doctorate degree at East Texas Baptist University. When Dr. Dawson was finishing school, he and his loving wife Margie had hardly any money and they both had to persevere through those tough times. Later in his life he became diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Living with such diseases made it hard to live a normal life. Thankfully he has his loving wife Margie Jo Clements by his side every step of the way. Dr. Dawson shows dedication to his work, his school, and his teaching. Early in his life, he became the president of East Texas Baptist University. He also earned his master's degree and Ph.D. Later on in his life he wrote a book called Elmer and the Peas and became an amazing author.

Lastly Jerry sacrificed his time with the ones he loved as he worked. This man sacrificed his time with his family as he worked and went to school. When he graduated through college, he interned as a pastor at 80 churches. He sacrificed money in paying taxes, and paying for school.

After writing the book Elmer and the Peas, he became an inspiration to many as his fans read his books, Elmer and the Peas, Pray Without Kidding, and Teaching Them. He has accomplished much through his own education, educating others, serving as a pastor, and being a spiritual patriarch to his family. His perseverance, dedication, and sacrifice has still been talked about by his friends, colleagues, and family.
