My Hero: Janez Drnovsek
A hero is someone that helps people. Janez Drnovsek was born on 17. May 1950 in Kisovec. His Father Viktor worked in a local mine and his mother Silva was a homemaker. He graduated at the University of Ljubljana. In 1992 He became prime minister of independent Slovenia. He was a prime minister until 2002 when he became President of Slovenia. He was responsible for Slovenia's membership in NATO and European Union. In 1999 doctors found that he had kidney cancer. They removed one of his kidneys. In 2001 they found that he still has cancer. He fought with it until 2004. He died in 2008 in Zaplana because of cancer.
He is my hero because he was a great politician and he did a lot of good things for Slovenia.
