We think that Jane Goodall is a hero because she saves endangered chimpanzees. Jane Goodall was born in London, England, on April 3, 1934. She grew up along the coast of England. Valerie Jane Morris-Goodall, otherwise known as Jane Goodall. Growing up she loved the book “Tarzan”, and always thought she would make a better companion than that other Jane in the book. Others say that she is their inspiration because of what she did for the chimps. She was the leader of the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF).
When Jane was 26 years old she went to South Africa. Jane found so many facts about chimps that National Geographic sent a man (Hugo Van Lawick) to document her life. They soon fell in love and then married. They had one child named Hugo Eric Louis Van Lawick. His birthday was March 4, 1967. They nicknamed their child Grub. Jane was now happily married and a mother. Jane and her husband started a Gombe Steam research center in 1965.
As a child 1 obstacle Jane had to overcome was that her dad was a military engineer in World War II. Another obstacle was that her parents got divorced when she was young. When she was an adult Jane gave many tries and efforts to save the chimps of the world. Jane also found something she believed in and fought until she won. I hope you find Jane Goodall as much of a hero as we did.
